Kick-off meeting of the TEMPUS OPUS project

Representatives of the 23 partner institutions from eight countries met on February 9-10 for the Kick off meeting of the TEMPUS project "Opening University towards Society: Linking Education-Research-Innovation".

 

The partners were greeted by Professor Aleksa Bjeliš, Rector of the University of Zagreb, Vedrana Ligutić, representative from Delegation of the European Commission to the Republic of Croatia, Ivana Puljiz, Director for International Cooperation and European Cooperation, Ministry for Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, and Gordana Cukar, Head of the National TEMPUS Office.

 

The University of Zagreb team lead by Professors Melita Kovačević, Vice-Rector for Science and Technology, Adrijan Barić, Chair of the University Committee for Research, Development and Technology and Srđan Novak, Head of the Technology Transfer Office gave a brief overview of the project.  EU country universities presented their best practices linked to the education - research - innovation triangle, which led to an intensive discussion. During the second day of the meeting, all partners refined and agreed upon the detalied project plan for the first year.
